The drawings are funny and the text provides a basic introduction to some of the first changes that kids will start to notice, such as the “hair in funny places”. I really didn’t care for the illustrations in this book, and the way it was written bbabette actually mildly annoying Mr. When Babette Cole died at the beginning of this yearmany authors and fans went into mourning – she was a unique and joyful voice in children’s books. An outgoing way to talk about puberty to your children.

There was no advice given on how to combat changes in the body and hhair issues surrounding them. There is one illustration of a bikini clad young woman with a “grown up body” walking down the beach smiling while getting ogled by two young men which I found very disturbing.
